"UTOPIA" by Travis Scott debuts at No. 1 during the biggest hip-hop week ever.
With UTOPIA, Travis Scott debuts at No. 1 on this week's Billboard200.
The highly anticipated album, which is the artist's first full-length release in five years, has the biggest R&B/hip-hop debut week ever and the third biggest week of 2023 thus far thanks to its massive 496,000 equivalent album unit first week sales. Of that total, its 252,000 album sales represent the second-largest sales week of 2023, and its 1,000 in track equivalent album units round out the total. Its 243,000 streaming equivalent album units translate to 330.68 million on-demand streams of the 19 songs, making it the second-biggest streaming week of 2023.
In addition to this accomplishment, Scott's companion movie CIRCUS MAXIMUS is currently streaming on Apple Music. It was co-directed by Gaspar Noe, Valdimar Johansson, Nicolas Winding Refn, Harmony Korine, Kahlil Joseph, and Scott himself.
Other new entries in the top 10 this week include Post Malone, whose AUSTIN debuted at No. 2 with 113,000 equivalent album units, comprising 78,000 equal album units from streaming (101.14 million on-demand streams), 34,000 equivalent album units from album purchases, and 1,000 equivalent album units from track sales. This is Posty's fifth top five appearance in a row.
