Four people have reportedly been detained for their alleged involvement in examination malpractice during the start of the Basic Education Certificate Examination (BECE) on Monday, according to the West African Examination Council (WAEC)
One person was detained in the Ashanti region while attempting to enter the exam room with materials prepared for the candidates, according to Mr. Kapi, who went on to explain the circumstances surrounding the detention. A female was detained in Tema Central for having a tablet with material on it that was supposed to be given to candidates. Two people were apprehended in the Central area, more especially in Dunkwa-On Offin, resolving test questions that they meant to communicate to applicants.
The arrested persons had broken the WAEC examination norms, the WAEC spokeswoman noted.
According to our rules and regulations governing the conduct of examinations at WAEC, any violation of these standards is quickly reported to law enforcement agencies, he emphasized once more.
